Search Tips

For additional help conducting a search, contact us at support@floridapublicnotices.com.

Our database of notices is based on specific newspapers uploading their public and legal notices on a daily and/or weekly basis, depending on when the newspapers publish. There are multiple ways to search, including...

  • Newspaper
  • Date Range
  • Keyword
  • City
  • County

The current database (4 weeks) can contain upwards of 25,000 notices, and the archive database (1 year) can contain over 300,000 notices. To help you obtain more accurate results from your search, we have some suggestions:

Summary

  1. Choose a specific newspaper if possible.
  2. Limit your date range.
  3. Use the keyword field to search for specific categories of notices, or specific text in a notice.
  4. Enter only a City or County, but NOT both.
  5. If you choose a newspaper name, do NOT enter a City or County.

Search by Specific Newspaper

  1. If you know the specific newspaper a notice will be published in, ALWAYS choose that newspaper. This will limit the number of results you will have to sort through, otherwise you may receive thousands of results. For example, if you conduct a keyword search for "Request for Bids" in "Any Newspaper", you will likely receive more results than you care to sort through.

  2. If you search by a specific newspaper, do not use the City or County fields. This will NOT help your search, and may actually hinder the results.

Search Using the Date Range

  1. The current database consists of notices published in the past 4 weeks. For notices published in the past year, go to the archive database.

  2. If you are receiving too many notices to sort through, limit the date range to help produce fewer results.

Search Using a Keyword

  1. It is suggested that you search using a keyword whenever possible; this will produce fewer and more accurate results. Use keywords such as...
    • a person's name
    • a street address
    • a category of notices (bid, foreclosure, tax deed, etc)
    • a county (Citrus, Lee, Dade, etc)
    • a city (Pensacola, Bartow, Jupiter, etc)

  2. The keyword field operates as a "find any word" search. For example, if you enter "Miami Beach", you will receive results containing "Miami", "Beach", and "Miami Beach."

  3. Use the Keyword field to search for a specific category of notices, such as bid, foreclosure, tax deed, warning to appear, etc.

Search by City or County

  1. Each newspaper is assigned a designated City and County. When you search by either of these two fields, the results will be notices published in the newspaper assigned to that specific City or County. If you want to search for a notice that contains a specific City or County name in the text, enter that name into the Keyword field.

  2. If you select a specific newspaper, do NOT enter a City or County.
